Advanced 3D Ultrasound Technology

Our 3D technology provides important additional information on uterine cavity shape for family planning, infertility and miscarriage investigation. Although 3D/4D ultrasound does not replace 2D scanning, it is a fantastic adjunct for complex gynaecology.

A 3D coronal view of the endometrium greatly enhances the understanding of endometrial and submucosal pathologies and is of valuable use for patients with infertility problems, allowing accurate detection of cavity shape abnormalities, submucosal fibroids and endometrial polyps.

Comprehensive Fertility Testing with HyCoSy Procedure

Our HyCoSy procedure utilises advanced ultrasound technology to evaluate the health of fallopian tubes and surrounding reproductive structures. Ideal for those exploring fertility options, this test can be a step in your path to conception, offering detailed results.

What should I expect
from my Gynaecological Ultrasound?

A gynaecological or pelvic ultrasound involves assessment of the female pelvic organs (uterus and ovaries). A transvaginal ultrasound will be performed in most cases as this will give us the best view of the pelvic organs. Please let the sonographer know if a vaginal scan is not appropriate for you. In this case an external transabdominal ultrasound can be performed instead.

How Should I Prepare
for My Ultrasound?

There is no preparation for a transvaginal (internal) pelvic ultrasound. If you feel uncomfortable to have an internal ultrasound a full bladder is required for a transabdominal (external) ultrasound. Please drink 500ml of water or clear fluid 1 hour prior to the scan.

The general ultrasound examination of the pelvis can be done at any time of the cycle, even when menstruating. Some specialised gynaecological procedures such as saline infusion, tubal patency assessment, follicle tracking and cavity shape assessment need specific timing with your cycle. Please contact our rooms if more information about these procedures is required.
